How Epitaz 100mg Injection worksEpitaz 100mg Injection is an anti-cancer medication. It works by suppressing the activity of an enzyme (topoisomerase II) involved in DNA multiplication of the breast cancer cells. It also forms harmful chemicals (free radicals) which cause DNA damage. This slows the growth of breast cancer cells and eventually kills them.

Suggestion for Epitaz 100mg Injection
- Use appropriate contraception during treatment with epirubicin, if you are women of childbearing potential.
- Male patients should not to father a child during and for 6 months after stopping epirubicin treatment.
- Inform you doctor if you have or had suffered problems with your heart, liver or if you have severe infection such as urinary infection.
- Do not drink fluids for 12 hours before the treatment if epirubicin is to be used in the bladder.
- Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Pregnancy

Epitaz 100mg Injection is unsafe to use during pregnancy. There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation

Epitaz 100mg Injection is unsafe to use during lactation. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby, or the mother is suffering from a condition in which breastfeeding is not advisable.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Epitaz 100mg Injection may cause episodes of nausea and vomiting, which can temporarily lead to an impairment of the ability to drive.
Kidney
Epitaz 100mg Injection is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Epitaz 100mg Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor. Lower doses may be considered in patients with serum creatinine > 5 mg/dL.
Liver

Epitaz 100mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Epitaz 100mg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Epitaz 100mg Injection is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
