For the treatment of metastatic medullary thyroid cancer and for the treatment of patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) who have received prior anti-angiogenic therapy.

How to take Cabozanix 80mg 30 Capsule
Cabozanix 80mg should be taken once a day. The usual dose is 60 mg, however your doctor will decide on the right dose for you. Cabozanix 80mg should not be taken with food. You should not eat anything for at least 2 hours before taking Cabozanix 80mg and for 1 hour after taking the medicine. Swallow the tablet with a full glass of water. Do not crush the tablets.
How Cabozanix 80mg 30 Capsule works
Cabozanix 80mg blocks the action of proteins called receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), which are involved in the growth of cells and the development of new blood vessels that supply them. These proteins can be present in high amounts in cancer cells, and by blocking their action Cabozanix 80mg can slow down the rate at which the tumour grows and help to cut off the blood supply that the cancer needs.

- Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to cabozantinib (Cabometyx, Cometriq), any other medications, or any of the ingredients in cabozantinib tablets. Ask your pharmacist or check the Medication Guide for a list of the ingredients.
- Tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, you are taking or plan to take. Be sure to mention any of the following: boceprevir (Victrelis), carbamazepine (Carbatrol, Epitol, Equetro, Tegretol, Teril), clarithromycin (Biaxin, in Prevpac), conivaptan (Vaprisol), indinavir (Crixivan), itraconazole (Onmel, Sporanox), ketoconazole, nefazodone, nelfinavir (Viracept), phenobarbital, phenytoin (Dilantin, Phenytek), posaconazole (Noxafil), rifabutin (Mycobutin), rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane, in Rifamate, Rifater), rifapentine (Priftin), ritonavir (Norvir, in Kaletra), saquinavir (Invirase), telithromycin (Ketek), and voriconazole (Vfend). Your doctor may need to change the doses of your medications or monitor you carefully for side effects. Many other medications may also interact with cabozantinib (Cabometyx), so be sure to tell your doctor about all the medications you are taking, even those that do not appear on this list.
- Tell your doctor what herbal products you are taking, especially St. John’s wort.
- Tell your doctor if you have recently had any unusual or severe bleeding such as coughing up blood, vomiting blood, or bloody or black tarry stools, or if you have an open or healing wound, or if you have or have ever had high blood pressure or liver disease.
- You should know that this medication may decrease fertility in men and women. Talk to your doctor about the risks of taking cabozantinib (Cabometyx).
- if you are having surgery, including dental surgery or a dental procedure tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking cabozantinib (Cabometyx). Your doctor will probably tell you to stop taking cabozantinib (Cabometyx) at least 28 days before your surgery or procedure, and will tell you when you should start taking the medication again.
- You should know that cabozantinib (Cabometyx) may cause serious problems with your jaw. A dentist should examine your teeth before you start to take cabozantinib and regularly during your treatment. Be sure to brush your teeth and clean your mouth properly while you are taking cabozantinib (Cabometyx).
- You should know that your blood pressure may increase during your treatment with cabozantinib. Your doctor will probably monitor your blood pressure before and during your treatment.
- Do not drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruit or any foods or supplements that contain grapefruit or grapefruit juice while you are taking this medication.

Pregnancy

Avoid becoming pregnant while being treated with Cabozanix 80mg. If you or your partner could become pregnant, use adequate contraception during treatment and for at least 4 months after treatment has finished. Talk to your doctor about which methods of contraception are appropriate while you are taking Cabozanix 80mg. Tell your doctor if you or your partner become pregnant or plan to become pregnant while you are being treated with Cabozanix 80mg.
Lactation

Women taking Cabozanix 80mg should not breast-feed during treatment and for at least 4 months after treatment has finished, as cabozantinib and/or its metabolites may be excreted in breast milk and be harmful to your child.
Driving
caution
Use caution when driving or using machines. Keep in mind that treatment with Cabozanix 80mg may make you feel tired or weak and can affect your ability to drive or use machines.
Kidney
Please inform your doctor if you are suffering from any kidney related diseases.
Liver
Please inform your doctor if you are suffering from any liver related diseases.

If there are still 12 hours or more before your next dose is due, then take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Take the next dose at the normal time. If your next dose is due in less than 12 hours, then do not take the dose that you have missed. Take your next dose at the normal time.
